ANCHOR is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization registered in Uganda whose goal is to reduce the suffering of the world’s most vulnerable groups and provide the tools and resources needed to increase their self-sufficiency.
Since its inception in 2014, ANCHOR has delivered conflict-sensitive programming with partners and alongside communities in the throes of violent conflict and recovery in Uganda, DR Congo, South Sudan, and Central African Republic, offering a holistic set of interventions that include community stabilization; organizational capacity development; infrastructure; research and advocacy; countering human trafficking; livelihoods and economic recovery; and behavior change communications programs. In its years of operation, ANCHOR has become a leader in delivering community-driven programming that builds peace, security, and economic inclusion in conflict-prone and conflict-affected areas.
